ACF: A dynamic comeback with 16,500 visitors

Owners of coffee shops, baristas, as well as consumers visited the Athens Coffee Festival, turning for three days the festival into the hottest event in the city.

The return of the Athens Coffee Festival was sealed by unique varieties of coffee, interesting workshops, and many new professional “acquaintances”.16,500 thousand professionals and coffee lovers visited the festival, from September 25 to 27, of which 7,500 were professionals, which confirms the commercial impact and dynamic that the festival has on the country’s coffee industry. The coffee festival was characterized by undoubted success, both by the exhibitors and the visitors, who all said they were excited by the quality and the perfect organization of the festival. The festival hosted with safety the visitors all three days and in combination with the summer weather it became the ultimate destination in the city, attracting visitors not only from every corner of Greece but also from abroad (Cyprus, Ecuador, Germany, Vietnam, etc.).

The decision makers of the coffee industry attended the festival

The decision makers of the coffee industry had the opportunity in three days, to talk with the top Greek coffee experts, as well as with the representatives of the top coffee brands, to share their concerns with talented baristas and coffee specialists and to exchange ideas with great personalities from the coffee industry. Visitors discovered up close single origin, single estate, blends, specialty coffees, fine varieties from around the world and rich equipment and they also became part of this great coffee festival of the city.

Seminars and competitions at the heart of the festival

The Coffee Masterclasses stole the show with top speakers from the coffee industry. The large number of professionals who attended, had the opportunity to discover the new trends that prevail in the modern international coffee scene, while being informed about the concerns of the global coffee industry. In more detail, with keynote speakers from Greece during the seminars, the main coffee industry’s issues were analyzed.

The topics ranged from the need for proper maintenance of coffee processing machines, the next day of Greek coffee, the role of ratio in the final cup, to microroasting as a business and environmentally friendly disposables. The masterclasses took place in Innovathens hall at the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens. At the same time, in room D10, the 4th Greek Roasting Championship of SCA Greece took place, and the winners were: Nerantzis Alexandros (1st place), Ferras Alexandros (2nd place), Angelopoulos Athanasios (3rd place).

Athens Coffee Festival, returned with even greater dynamics and renew its appointment with coffee lovers and coffee professionals for September 24-26, 2022.
