The coffee masters will meet again during Athens Coffee Festival and will put all their art and imagination to win a place at the top in the Panhellenic Coffee in Good Spirits, Roasting, Ibrik, Latte Art Championships organized by SCA Greece.
The Greek coffee industry meets again at Athens Coffee Festival 2023! Top baristas, brewers and roasters will be here in order to either participate at the Panhellenic Coffee 2024 Good Spirits, Roasting, Ibrik, Latte Art, or watch these exciting competitions.
Talented and ambitious baristas will compete in those four different categories, with the goal of representing Greece in the world championships of SCA. The competitions will be held in the specially designed D10 hall of Technopolis. This year too the hall will be filled with people – friends and colleagues of the contestants who will cheer and give them courage – but also of course visitors of the festival who will be eager to see up close these unique techniques and the coffee battles.

Coffee in Good Spirits
The Hellenic Coffee in Good Spirits Championship will highlight the baristas’ mixology skills in a setting where coffee and alcohol go perfectly together. Contestants will be challenged to show their skills and knowledge and use their talent, imagination and original creations to win a place at the top. The winner will represent Greece at the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship.
During the 6th Hellenic Roasting Championship contestants from all over Greece will try to distinguish themselves in the demanding coffee roasting terrain, from the early stages of raw coffee processing to the grinding of grains. The winner will represent Greece at the World Coffee Roasting Championship.
Pot coffee is particularly popular in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa as it is the most traditional beverage. Contestants in the Ibrik competition will demonstrate their skills in roasting coffee using the traditional technique in the kettle and on low heat.
Latte Art is the method in which the barista, pouring frothed milk into the espresso, creates different designs on its surface. In other words, he/she processes the milk with the appropriate techniques in order to combine it with coffee, to prepare, but mainly to decorate his drinks. In the Hellenic Coffee Championship that will be held as part of Athens Coffee Festival 2023, the contestants will be invited to create their own designs with milk on coffee and the winner will pack his bags for the international competition.
