ACF & Humanity Greece joined forces!

The Athens Coffee Festival, as a festival that not only offers information and entertainment but also functions as a platform for highlighting actions focused on fellow human beings and society, this year for the first time, as part of the 2023 event, joined forces with the Humanity Greece, one of the most dynamic voluntary organizations in the country. 

The aim; Common. To raise awareness and inform people hoping that we can contribute together to create a better world. 

How; With a wide range of activities that took place within the festival 23-25 September! 

Collection of food, clothing, medicine 

From 10:00-21:00 on Saturday and Sunday and from 11:00 to 20:00 on Monday, the volunteers of Humanity Greece welcomed the visitors and exhibitors of the festival at the specially designed points in the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens who wanted to offer basic necessities to support the socially and economically vulnerable families of the Registry supported by Humanity Greece. 

Here is the list of goods collected: 
  • 35 large bags of clothing (all ages)
  • 10 school bags
  • 10 kilos of pasta
  • 12 kilos of pulses
  • 20 liters of olive oil
  • 40 pieces of snacks
  • 42 cans
  • 10 baby diapers
  • 20 baby foods
  • 20 sixes of large bottled water
  • 10 24 small bottled waters
  • 20 juices

Actions in collaboration with the exhibitors 

The exhibitors had the opportunity to offer products throughout the duration of the Festival, such as food, drinks, snacks which will be given both to the vulnerable Families of the Humanity Greece Registry and to the homeless population supported by the Organization, in order to promote the value of sustainability and upcycling. 

Information & training 

During the festival, the Humanity Greece team was in a specially designed area of Technopolis, in hall D12, where visitors of the Athens Coffee Festival were able to learn about the organization’s activities and the ways in which they can they also contribute. At the same time, the founder of the organization, Mrs. Georgia Paraschou gave a speech as part of the Coffee Masterclasses on Sunday 24.9, 12:00-13:00 on the topic “The Contribution of Businesses to extraordinary and arising needs of Civil Society – The contribution of Businesses as an integral part of the support chain”.

A few words about Humanity Greece 

Within just one year of its launch, Humanity Greece is considered one of the most dynamic voluntary organizations in the country. Starting as a coordinating body of volunteers in the disastrous fires of August 2021, it has evolved into a humanitarian organization that supports on a monthly basis over 500 families and people facing economic and social problems.
