4th Athens Coffee Festival confirmed once more its potential and role as one of the top coffee festivals in the world.
The great celebration of coffee turned out to be the absolute hot spot of Athens throughout the last three days of September. Also, Gazi turned into the informal capital of the second most commercial product in the world, attracting both professionals and coffee lovers from every corner of the country and the world. – The 100 exhibitors – the largest and most important coffee and coffee-industry-related equipment supply and production companies, welcomed the 37,000 visitors, a significant proportion of whom were industry professionals that had the opportunity to get informed on the developments in the industry, meet new people and close business deals. New products, trends, ideas and tips from the best in the field were some of the elements that characterized the festival, with professionals in the industry as well as consumers talking about a successful event.

Coffee tastings, workshops, masterclasses by Greek and foreign top professionals of the industry and key executives of the coffee market, impressed all three days of the festival making the Innovathens hall, where Coffee Masterclasses were held, the meeting point of the professionals and consumers that visited the festival. During the seminars all new trends that dominate the modern international coffee scene were presented, while the concerns of the global coffee industry were also discussed and analyzed.
Talented and ambitious baristas competed in four different categories, with the goal of representing Greece in the world championships of SCA. More specifically, SCA Greece held the Panhellenic Championships in Roasting, Latte Art, Cezve / Ibrik and the Cup Tasters. The respective winners, Alexandros Ferras, Christos Douvas, Dimitris Baigousis and Orestis Sfyris, also received tickets to represent the country in world competitions. In addition, the 4th Panhellenic AeroPress Championship was held for the first time at ACF 2019, with Vasso Kalafati named the winner.

Generous-prize competitions, famous radio producers and an arousing live performance by Alcatrash. The main stage of the Athens Coffee Festival was the meeting point of the festival. Melodies and positive energy “flooded” the main stage that was set up at the open space of Technopolis City of Athens. Throughout the three days of the event, a large number of people had the opportunity to enjoy their coffee in the comfortable poufs that surrounded the stage, listening to good music while also having the opportunity to leave with generous gifts from the festival’s exhibitors.
Visiting consumers were also qualitatively better. As it follows from what the exhibitors, who had the opportunity to get to know their target audience, confessed to us, people were clearly more informed about coffee, varieties, techniques and more. Also, they mentioned that 4th Athens Coffee Festival was a hot spot for industry professionals who wanted to have a chat with the most dynamic Greek coffee experts as well as with representatives of leading coffee brands.
