In the Athens Coffee Festival’s Chatroom, leading professionals and skilled scientists from Greece and eight other countries will present and discuss today’s dominant trends and the future of coffee. The Chatroom is hosted in Hall D6 (Furnaces) of Technopolis.
All the latest trends, innovations, concerns and ideas, dominating the global coffee industry, will be presented at the Athens Coffee Festival’s Chatroom by leading figures of the international market. The Chatroom program will cover 25 hours of live presentations and demonstrations, with the participation of an equal number of rapporteurs from Greece and abroad.
The presentations are addressed both to professionals and to coffee aficionados, covering issues related to the present and future of coffee production, coffee history & culture, the aromatic potential and flavor profile of raw and roasted grains, the Italian espresso tradition and the challenges of specialty coffee, etc. Foreign rapporteurs include the American scientist Emma Sage (member of the World Coffee Research team that drafted the emblematic Sensory Lexicon and the Coffee Flavor Wheel), the Italian espresso guru Marino Petracco (lead researcher at illycaffè), the legendary Greek coffee producer Eleana Georgali from Ethopia, Alexandros Delithanassis who continues a two-century- old tradition of Greek presence in the Trieste cafeteria market, and others.
The Chatroom program reflects the latest international trends in coffee cultivation, production and processing, as well as in the preparation of beverages. At the same time, it maps the tastes of the modern consumer, records aspects of the history of coffee and offers its visitors food for thought.
All presentations last 45 minutes and admission is free of charge. There is no possibility of preregistration, so those wishing to attend are kindly requested to be at the presentation venue, at least 5 minutes before the indicated start time.
