All set for the Athens Coffee FestivalMarios Adamantopoulos
On Saturday, September 30, Sunday, October 1 and Monday, October 2, 2017, Technopolis Gazi in Athens will welcome professionals and coffee enthusiasts in a large celebration, dedicated to coffee and its surrounding culture. The leading Italian espresso producers and the most dynamic Greek coffee roasters are ready to welcome coffee industry & cafeteria professionals, home baristas and coffee consumers at the 2 nd Athens Coffee Festival, the largest coffee celebration in Greece, held between September 30 and October 2 in Technopolis Gazi in Athens. For the second consecutive year, the Festival is organized under the auspices of the Specialty Coffee Association, which guarantees the prestige and philosophy of the event. In fact, as part of the Festival, SCA Greece will organize the 1 st Panhellenic Roasting Championship.
Prestigious rapporteurs from Greece and abroad will take part in the seminars, presentations and demonstrations, which will be held during the Festival in two specially designed areas: the Lab (seminars, workshops) and the Chatroom (presentations, demonstrations, discussions). In addition, for the first time this year, the Festival will feature a fully equipped Cupping Room, which will host tastings of exquisite, rare coffee varieties from around the world.
The aim of this year’s festival is to attract as many sector professionals as possible, from every corner of Greece, along with a selection of major international visitors. At the same time, the festival will continue to appeal to the dynamic audience of consumers who are coffee aficionados and are interested in the latest trends and developments in the field of coffee. Setting the festival atmosphere as a priority, along with prolonging the visitors’ stay in the festival, the organizing company gives exhibitors the opportunity to develop specially designed sitting areas in the outdoor spaces of Technopolis, where they will be serving their coffee and beverages. This year, general admission will be just 4 euros per day, so that even more consumers who have not yet been introduced to the secrets of coffee will be able to visit the festival.
The organization of the 2 nd Athens Coffee Festival coincides with the celebration of International Coffee Day, on October 1 st . This way, exhibitors will have the opportunity to celebrate along with professionals and coffee aficionados, organizing coffee-centric events and activities as part of the festival. Furthermore, during all three days of the Festival, the main stage that will be set up at the open-air area of Technopolis will host a rich program of musical events, with live concerts (Marietta Fafouti, Painted Black, George Zervos) and DJs set by popular producers of radio stations En Lefko 87.7, Red 96.3 and Hit 88.9.
